CyRide’s passengers can now Plan their Bus Trip via Google Transit! Get step-by-step transit directions in your web browser or on your mobile phone (download Google maps for your phone at m.google.com/maps) by entering in the specifics of your trip in Ames. Enter your origin and final destination addresses, the time you’re likely to leave/arrive and the day of your trip. Information will display which tells you how to get from point A to point B via CyRide including any walking and transferring between buses. We hope that our passengers enjoy this new feature from CyRide.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN USING GOOGLE TRANSIT - Please click the "Show options" link underneath the "B" Destination in Google Maps and choose PREFER "Less Walking" instead of "Best Route" within the drop down boxes.  This will allow a more direct route via bus than the "Best Route" option.  "Best Route" is not necessarily the "most direct route" for transit trips.  In addition, walking directions/times on Iowa State University campus may reflect a less direct route as Google does not include sidewalk paths on campus and may direct passengers to walk to a campus building via existing streets. CyRide and ISU are working with Google to implement this data. We encourage users to report/e-mail any additional incorrect, misleading or confusing trip itinerary information to CyRide with the subject GOOGLE ISSUE in the subject header. We can only get better with your help!
